9.2 gm tugtupite specimen from Greenland
Tugtupite, is found only in Greenland. It is tenebrescent, meaning that it possesses the fascinating ability to change colour when it is exposed to sunlight. Under ultraviolent radiation, it has a crimson fluorescence, and it is a non-radioactive substance.
Tugtupite is considered to be a stone of unconditional love. In Inuit legend, it is attributed to “Tutu,” or the “reindeer girl.” It is said that Tutu gave birth to her firstborn child in the mountains and, during the process, life-giving blood seeped down into the stones, creating tugtupite. Thus, tugtupite has always represented life, fertility and romance. Upon carrying this stone with you, you should experience the opening of both the heart and thymus (or higher heart) chakras. The Inuit claimed that the stone itself can glow red according to the intensity of the love felt between lovers. Its a wonderful reminder of miracles and magic
